Ants (Black & Garden)

We have 2 treatment methods for the control of garden/black ants.

1. Treatment with a liquid insecticide by spraying all the wall/floor junctions within the affected areas, the nest and any crack and crevices with a powder insecticide.

The cost for this is £50 + VAT (£60 inc.)

or

2. Treatment with an ant bait gel within the location of the nest and/or activity.

The cost for this is £50 + VAT (£60 inc.)

We do not guarantee treatments as new nests can form within the vicinity.

Additional visits are charged at our basic call rate of £30 + VAT (£36 inc.)

It is generally recommended that option 2 is undertaken however this can take a few weeks to fully take control and eradicate the nest.

Option 1 can have immediate effects with the main workers but is less likely in some situations to control the queen.

Bed bugs

Bed bugs are likely the hardest of all insects to kill. This is due to a waxy exoskeleton skin that prevents most insecticides from penetrating.

Site survey required to formulate a bespoke solution before treatment can commence.

At Sussex Pest Control a typical treatment would involve a 3 stage treatment process, with multiple treatments required.

1. Inspection followed by treatment with an insecticide to all of the bed frame, skirting boards, bedroom furniture and any other possible harbourage that the bugs are using.

2. Treatment of cracks and crevices including internal bed frames & electrical sockets with a Diatomaceous earth (an organic substance)

3. Treatment of the room with a ULV - Ultra Low Volume insecticide.

We offer a discount for multiply rooms.

We do not guarantee any bedbug treatment and we must point out that multiply treatments may be required (however most are under control within 1 visit).

The source of the infestation must be highlighted to prevent re-occurring infestations.

Carpet Moth / Case-Bearing Clothes Moth

Carpet moth will only attack natural fibres.

Treatment can be obtained via two intense insecticide spray's to all carpets within the house followed by a ULV Ultra Low Volume treatment.

Prices will vary depending on the size of the house.

Upto a 3 bed house: £180 + VAT (£216 inc.)

Additional rooms are charged at £30 + VAT (£36 inc.)

The source of the infestation must be found to prevent re-occurring issues.

Additional pheromone traps can be placed at £5 + VAT (£6 inc.) to monitor the infestation.

Fleas

Before a treatment can commence you must make sure that your cat or dog has been treated with a flea treatment.

Treatment for fleas are as follows:

1. 2 Treatments with an insecticide and IGR (Insect Growth Regulator) to all floor surfaces, spaced 7 to 10 days apart.

The cost will vary depending on the size of your house.

Upto a 3 bedroom house £150 + VAT (£180 inc.)

Additional bedrooms are charged at £10 + VAT (£12 inc.)

We do not guarantee flea treatments and any additional treatments are offered at a 50% discount with a minimum charge of £30 + VAT (£36 inc.)

The vast majority of treatments gain full eradication under 1 visit.

Activity will persist for approx 10 days as insecticide will not penetrate eggs.

Additional requirements:

The house must be in a clean state before can commence.

No vacuuming for a 2 week period after the treatment.

You must leave the house for 3 hours after the treatment.

You must not leave the house for long durations (i.e holidays).

Mice

Mice are a major pest and must be controlled to prevent damage to property and the transmission of diseases.

Mice can be tricky to control as they only require minimal amounts of food to survive. Generally mice in rural areas are straight forward however some towns including Brighton and Worthing can be difficult due to neophobia and general bait shyness.

Our services include the following:

1. Inspection of the area to find the source and entrance points.

2. Treatment with a rodenticide and/or traps within a controlled and safe environment.

3. Removal of accessible dead rodents.

4. Removal of accessible bait at the end of the visit.

5. Provision of recommendations to reduce the risk of future activity.

The cost of our treatment is £145 + VAT (£174 inc.) for a 3 part treatment, which is usually sufficient. Should additional visits be required these may be chargeable.

Prices will vary on larger infestations such as farms and country estates.

We do not guarantee treatments or long-term control as new migrating mice can reuse old tunnels and nesting grounds.

Rats

Rats are a major pest and must be controlled to prevent damage to property and the transmission of diseases.

Rats can be tricky to control as they only require minimal amounts of food to survive. Generally rats in rural areas are straight forward however some towns including Brighton and Worthing can be difficult due to neophobia and general bait shyness.

We offer a service of capture and removal of squirrels from your property that will consist of the following.

1. Inspection and location of the drey.

2. Placement of 2 x Kania 2000 traps.

3. Removal and destruction of the carcass.

Most treatments are concluded within 3 visits and any additional visits will be charged at £30 + VAT (£36 inc.)

We offer a proofing service that will vary depending on the size and location of the works.

Customers are required to check traps daily.

Wasps

We charge £45 + VAT (£60 inc.) for the inspection and treatment of the first nest.

Additional nests are charged at £20 + VAT (£18 inc.)

All nest treatments are guaranteed for the present season.

We can normally reach any location on an average house using ladders and lances.

On the very rare occasions that the nest is an awkward place we may need to charge an additional fee to cover access costs.

Woodworm

Woodworm is a larvae of a beetle that can cause structural damage if left untreated.

We cannot provide a quote over the phone as this requires a survey to inspect the activity.

We offer a free survey to inspect and if required quote for the correct treatment.

Common furniture beetle (aka woodworm) generally requires spraying 3 sides of a beam to allow full eradication and control.

On average it can take upto 5 years for full control from the treatment.

We offer a 30 year guarantee and proof of treatment on all our works with the additional option of a 20 year insurance cover.
